Police Parades Gunmen That Robed Pastor And Raped His Daughter In Ibadan

Four suspected gunmen who robbed a pastor and raped his daughter were among the 33 suspected criminals paraded by the Oyo State Police Command on Thursday. The suspects were paraded for various offences ranging from burglary to car snatching at gunpoint. The four-man gang invaded the pastor’s house at Sanyo area of Ibadan, the state capital, at about 11:45 pm on July 21. They scaled the victim’s fence and
forced him to open the door. While three of them entered the house, the fourth member stayed back to monitor the compound.
After robbing the man of God, the leader of the night marauders, Ayodele Ademola, raped one of his daughters. The armed robbers dispossessed the family of their valuables including a Sony laptop, two iPads, a Toyota Corolla, a Mercedez Benz, and the sum of N200,000.

Ademola, 55, confessed to the crime while fielding questions from reporters. The gang leader said he did not know why he raped the girl and acknowledged that he was possibly operating under a curse. He said: We went to rob a pastor. We took the car and other items. Then, I raped his daughter. I don’t know why. I think they have cursed me.”
The robbery suspect said hardship led him into robbery, recalling that he performed his first robbery operation in Kogi State last September. “I won’t steal again if I am pardoned,” he said, pleading with the police. Ademola also disclosed that he has two daughters.

Other members of the gang are – Afolabi Oluwatobi, Morakinyo Olufemi and Azeez Rafiu. The robbers were arrested one after the other at different locations after which the items were recovered from them. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula, who paraded them, said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
