Bullion Van Ambushed As Armed Robbers Cart Away Millions In Ondo

Some dare-devil armed robbers, yesterday, ambushed and disarmed policemen escorting a bullion van, then carted away an unspecified amount of money, Vanguard reports. The body of the bullion van and the escort vehicles were riddled with bullets, while their tyres were deflated by bullets. It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 4p.m at Elemoso village in Ondo East council of Ondo State.

Supreme Court Sacks The Acting Governor Of Taraba State

The Supreme Court has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Sanni Danladi, who was impeached by the state House of Assembly in October 2012. In a unanimous judgment, the Supreme Court held that the impeachment panel set up by the House of Assembly to investigate the allegations against Danladi violated his rights to fair hearing.

Formula One legend, Michael Schumacher is paralysed and in a wheelchair, according to former racing driver Philippe Streiff. The seven-time champion cannot speak and has memory problems. Streiff, who is himself wheelchair-bound since a crash in Brazil during pre-season tests in 1989 left him a quadriplegic, was speaking on French radio.

Singapore Airlines Charges $1,171 For Airplane WiFi? - Shocked Passenger

A man says he's recovering from "sticker shock" after being charged $1,171 for using WiFi on his Singapore Airlines flight. Passenger Jeremy Gutsche wrote on his blog that he willingly purchased 30MB of Internet service for $28.99 and knew there were fees for going beyond the limit. He added, though, that he didn't realize it would cost that much. "So what does it take to rack up $1200 of internet use? In my case, just 155 page views, mostly to my email," Gutsche wrote.

Human Rights Condemns Indonesia's Cruel Virginity Test For Female Police Recruits

Human Rights Watch has urged Indonesia's National Police to halt "discriminatory" virginity tests for women applying to join the force in the world's most populous Muslim-majority country. Three Female Police Officers Publicly Beaten & Stripped In Edo

According to a report on The Nation, Three female police officers who went to make an arrest at Oregbeni quarters in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State were on Wednesday beaten and stripped naked. The police officers are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. They were invited by a landlady in the area to arrest one of her tenants when a fracas ensued.
