Dolphins FC of Portharcourt striker, Emem Eduok, was sent home from the ongoing national u-23 team camp in Abuja when it was discovered that his passport stated January 31, 1994 as his birth date, while his club license had 1991 as his birthday. Eduok played at last year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup with the age on his passport and the Super Eagles striker, who emerged the Most Valuable Player as Dolphins reached the final of the 2014 Federation Cup, insists that is his true age.

He took with him a GPS logger to document the journey as he experienced the “Japan that [he knows] only in books.” He covered more than 4,349 miles (7,000 kilometres) in six months, mostly on foot and sometimes by car, ferry or bicycle. Unlawful Detention: Nyanya Bomb Blast Suspect Seeks N100M Compensation

AITonline reports that the alleged mastermind of the ‎April 14 Nyanya bomb blast, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche on Thursday told the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that he is being illegally detained by the State Security Service, SSS, and as such should be released since the court had struck out the charge on which he was arrested and being detained. He prayed the Court  to compel SSS to pay him the sum of N100 million as compensation for his unlawful arrest and detention without trial and a published apology in two national dailies.

Boko Haram: Police Defuse Bomb Near Jos Primary School

The Stream reports that the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Nigeria Police yesterday defused a bomb that was planted near Tin City Primary School in Jos, and that the fuse on the bomb had been lit, but was put out before it could explode. Police investigations revealed that the device was intended to blow up a cash machine outside the school. The bomb has been described as “containing about one kilogramme of explosives and was about 22 cm long and cylindrical in shape.”

PDP Suspends Its Former National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its former chairman, Bamanga Tukur, for taking legal action to reclaim his seat. The party said it sanctioned Mr. Tukur for failing to explore the party’s mechanisms for redress, before going to court to challenge his ouster. Mr. Tukur is asking the courts to nullify his resignation in January, saying he was compelled to stand down. He has also asked the court to sack the current chairman, Adamu Mu’azu. A federal court dismissed his prayers on Tuesday.

Christ Embassy Music Director Arrested For Allegedly Abducting Banker

Christ Embassy Church Zone 1, Idimangoro Parish, Agege, Lagos, Music Director, Edward Nnaji, has been arrested for allegedly abducting a female banker and demanding for a N20 million ransom.
According to Daily Post, Nnaji conspired with two others to abduct the victim in Lagos in 2012. They took her to an uncompleted building in Ogun State, where she was kept for four days, with her hands and legs in chains.The family of the victim paid N5 million to secure her release.

Islamic State militants have set up training camps in eastern Libya, the head of the US Africa command says. Gen David Rodriguez said there could be "a couple of hundred'' IS fighters undergoing training at the sites. He said the camps were at a very early stage, but the US was watching them "carefully to see how it develops". Libya has been in turmoil since Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011, with various tribes, militias and political factions fighting for power.

Freed At Last: MMMG Rapper, Meek Mill Released From Jail

After five months behind bars, MMG rapper, Meek Mill will reportedly be released from prison today and will be coming home for the holidays. According to FOX 29, Meek, born Robert Williams, will leave a Philadelphia prison over a month ahead of his January 2015 release. He was sentenced to three-to-six months in prison for a probation violation in July. The incarceration delayed the September release of his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money.
