Have you noticed some of our favorite celebrities getting doused in buckets of ice water all of a sudden? Well, the good news is it’s not some ridiculous fad like planking. It’s all for a good cause. The ALS #IceBucketChallenge was started earlier this month by The ALS Association, a non-profit organization
that raises money for Lou Gehrig’s Disease research, patient services and awareness.
When dared, challengers have two options: get drenched in ice water and nominate three others to join, or if they’re too chicken, donate to the ALS charity of their choice. Of course people are donating whether they participate or not, but it’s much more fun and effective in raising awareness to get ice water dumped on their heads instead LOL!
So far, The ALS Association has raised over $10 million dollars since the start of ice bucket challenge with people like Oprah, Kevin Hart, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Boris Kodjoe, Justin Timberlake and Tyler Perry having already taken their cold showers.
And we may be getting Beyonce next since Texas Tech football coach Kliff Kingsbury nominated the queen herself to do the challenge…while wearing a “Beyonce Is Bae” shirt lmao.
