The Council of Fashion Designers of America celebrated themselves, and each other, with a grand fete at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall Monday night, where haute looks and warm weather ruled the red carpet. Fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg enthusiastically cast a vote of approval for CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award winner, Rihanna, who arrived Monday wearing a sparkly flapper dress and matching beanie.

While fashionistas in attendance Monday night were Joan Smalls, wearing Prabal Gurung; Emmy Rossum, in J. Mendel; Blake Lively and Karen Elson, in Michael Kors; and a Marchesa-clad Sophia Bush, who said her biggest fashion faux pas was “the ’90s.”
