Going Hollywood: FC Barcelona Releases The Official Trailer For ‘Messi’ The Movie

FC Barcelona have offered the first glimpse of Football superstar, Lionel Messi movie aptly titled “Messi” — via the club’s official YouTube account. Using a combination of old home movies and new interviews, the biopic focuses on the Messi’s growth from a youngster at Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina to a global icon as one of the world’s best, and arguably the best ever.
Some monster names from the game feature in the trailer, including Johan Cruyff, Alejandro Sabella, Cesar Luis Menotti and Jorge Valdano. Barcelona team-mates Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano also appear in the film.

And in case you were scrambling for a way to kick off the upcoming new year, the film is slated for release on Jan. 1. What a way to start 2015! Watch trailer below!
