Proving that age ain’t nothin’ but a number, 60-year-old Oprah Winfrey looks stunning on the May
2014 issue of O Magazine, which
carries the theme “How To Love The Skin
You’re In” this month. For the
cover, she posed in a royal purple Vicky Tiel of Carms Couture Designs dress,
while proving that being beautiful and sexy doesn’t expire just because you get
older.
Inside, Oprah encourages readers to embrace getting older,
while revealing what she has found to be the most difficult part about aging:
I’m not one to get
hung up on numbers but if you want to say 60 is the new 40, I’ll take that. You
can be and do whatever you want, thanks to exercise and hair color. Hair color.
The greatest invention of all time for women. Thank you.
On The Best and Worst
Part About Growing Older
The absolute best part about aging is being free and able to
do whatever you want. There’s nothing better than that. The hardest part is
really recognizing the time that you’ve wasted and the things that you worried
about that really didn’t matter. You regret the time that was wasted.’
Last year, after turning 59, she dished this message to
women who fear getting older and lie about their age:
“People get all
screwed up and afraid of aging when, in fact, every year should be a
celebration. You should be celebrating every year that you are given. I don’t
understand women lying about their age and everybody dreading getting older. It
means you’re still here! To deny your age is to deny your life. I stand here 59
years old and so happy to claim every single part of the journey of those 59
years.”
