Peace-Keeper Killed As Islamist Militants Attack A U.N Camp In Mali
Gunmen have launched an attack on a UN camp in Mali, killing a UN peace-keeper, residents and eyewitnesses say. The attack took place at about 06:00 in the northern town of Kidal. Residents said at least two suicide bombers were involved and a car bomb was detonated. A soldier from Chad was killed and at least one other was injured.

18-Year Old UK-Based Nigerian Rapper, Isaiah Ekpaloba Stabbed To Death
Isaiah Ekpaloba - an 18-year Nigerian upcoming rapper reportedly died on January 9th after he was stabbed in Wood Green, UK, by a man named Jaydee Dorsett. They were engaged in physical combat that involved the use of knifes, and by the time they were done, the two teenagers suffered stab wounds. Isaiah took himself to the hospital to get treated but died shortly after.

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson on Friday ordered the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) to leave the state and cease campaigning for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election, in what appears a battle between Mr. Dickson and loyalists of the president’s wife who are in charge of the organization in Bayelsa State. The decision appears a fallout of deteriorating relations between the governor (who fired three loyalists of the first lady from his cabinet) and Mrs. Jonathan who had earlier resigned from her position as permanent secretary in the Bayelsa State civil service.

Ghana's Kwadjo Peter, according to report claimed he collapsed whilst playing football with his friends and was pronounced dead by a doctor at the Begoro Hospital. He said he began to breathe again at the morgue and stood up to ask the morgue attendant to give him some water to drink. Speaking with Peace TV Ghana, he said the shocked morgue attendant didn't believe he was real and struck him with a stick which killed him again.
Death Sentence? - Thailand-Based Nigerians Arrested For E-Mail Hacking Scam
Thailand based Nigerian computer guru, Shola Rotimi Oluwole, 29, from Idominasi, Osun State, and his Thai girlfriend have been arrested for hacking the email account of a silverware firm and redirecting payments for goods ordered by customers overseas into their own bank account. They tampered with the account, changing the bank account number for payments for orders to their own account number, so that customers would transfer money into their bank account instead.

Angry Youth Stone Suspected Boko Haram Fighter To Death In Kano
According to a report on Premium Times, an unidentified man was on Friday lynched in Kano on suspicion he belonged to the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram. The man was stoned to death by hundreds who gathered near Kano Central Mosque shortly before the commencement of Friday prayers. The attackers said the man arrived at the area with an explosive material and a gun.

Nigerian Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has revealed that bird flu has hit Lagos and Kano states respectively. The ministry made the announcement on Thursday, stating that an unusual high mortality rate in two live bird markets and poultry farms had caused them to conduct investigations into the matter, Punch reports. The bird’s blood samples were sent to the National Veterinary Research Institute for testing.

Yesterday, Pakistani Muslims called for the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists to be hanged for drawing the Prophet Mohammed on its latest front cover. As worldwide protests continued for a second day, nearly 300 people from a religious group rallied in the eastern city of Lahore, carrying placards saying 'Down with Charlie Hebdo'. One banner read: 'Making blasphemy cartoon of the Prophet is the worst act of terrorism. The sketch-makers must be hanged immediately.'
