Football Player Gets 50-Year Ban After Attacking The Referee

A Switzerland-based amateur footballer has been banned for 50 years after kicking a ball in the referee's face and spraying him with water. Portugal Futebol Clube defender Ricardo Ferreira has already served a 45-game ban for assaulting opposition players. "I had expected one or two years maximum. But 50 years? Football's my life," Ferreira, 28, said. The fourth-tier league's lawyer Robert Breiter said: "We do not want such a player in our league."

$12,000 Internet Scam: EFCC Arraigns UNIBEN Undergraduate

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, October 30, 2014 arraigned an undergraduate of the University of Benin, Kenneth Rukewe Ebule before Justice E. F Ikponmwen of an Edo State High Court, sitting in Benin City on a 6-count charge bordering on forgery, obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents. The accused person allegedly duped Sabine Albert, a German, of the sum of $12, 088, 75 (Twelve Thousand Eighty Eight Dollars and Seventy Five Cents) through fraudulent claims.

Boko Haram: 3 Arrested As Bomb Explosion Rocks Gombe Motor Park

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with an early morning bomb explosion at the Gombe Motor Park which left an unconfirmed number of persons dead and several others injured. The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kudu Nma, told newsmen in Gombe that a vehicle with an inscription "Yobe Line" was reported to have brought the suspected bombers to the park. “A vehicle which was suspected to have carried the bombers who came in with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) was recovered. Unfortunately for them, they were caught when they were about to run away,” he said.

Many Feared Killed As Bomb Rocks Transport Motor Park In Gombe

An explosion has ripped through a bus station in Gombe, residents and witnesses have told Reporters. According to sources, the explosion happened this morning at the popular Gombe Line Transport Services Limited. Details of the incident are still sketchy, but Abdulrahman Suae, a resident of the area, said he saw about five people being evacuated to the Gombe General Hospital. He was unable to confirm whether they were dead or simply injured. Another witness said the Police have cordoned off the area and that emergency officials were rushing injured victims to hospital.
