Passenger Arrested After Hijack Scare On Virgin Australia Flight To Bali

According to reports in Guardian, A Virgin Australia plane flying to Bali was the focus of a hijack scare after an apparently drunk passenger attempted to enter the plane's cockpit.

The security alert began when Indonesian officials said the pilot of the Boeing 737 flight from Brisbane reported a hijack attempt. When the plane landed at Bali's airport it was escorted away from the terminal by military trucks, with other flights grounded, witnesses at the airport said.

However, the local airport manager for Virgin Australia, Heru Sudjatmiko, told local TV the disturbance was caused by a seemingly drunk passenger, a 28-year-old Australian, who was acting aggressively and had to

Former FC Barcelona coach, Tito Vilanova, who has been battling cancer, has died at the age of 45.

"FC Barcelona is in immense mourning," the Spanish club said in a statement. "Tito Vilanova has died at the age of 45. May he rest in peace."

Vilanova, who had first been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor of the throat in November 2011, stepped down as Barcelona coach in July 2013.

He succeeded Pep Guardiola, who is now Bayern Munich coach, in June 2012 and led the Catalan giants to the Spanish La Liga title during his time in charge of the team.

Nigerian Censors Board Bans Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s “Half of A Yellow Sun” Blockbuster Movie

According to reports, The Nigeria Film and Video Censorship Board, (NFVCB), has banned the widely publicized and internationally acclaimed film, “Half of A Yellow Sun” which has been premiered in Nigeria.

Reliable sources disclosed that the film was banned because it somehow promotes Biafra, as it was mentioned repeatedly in the movie, though promoters are making frantic efforts to remove the offensive sections and get the film approved.

Mad Man Arrested In Possession Of N4 Million, Human Parts & Ammunition In Benin [Report]

PM News exclusively reports that a suspected ritual killer who specializes in selling human parts has been arrested by security operatives in Benin City, the Edo State capital, southern Nigeria.

The man, whose identity is yet to be revealed, was allegedly arrested at the Upper Sokponba road area of Benin with cut to size gun, different human parts and N4 million cash.

It was reliably gathered that the man had lived in a make-shift apartment for close to two years, pretending to be a madman.

According to one of the landlords in the area simply identified as Pa. Onaiwu, who spoke to journalists, the suspected ritual killer was in the habit of behaving funny especially when it is getting dark.

Nigerian Supreme Court has voided the legendary Igbo law and custom, which forbid a female from inheriting her late father’s estate, on the grounds that it is discriminatory and conflicts with the provision of the constitution.

The apex court held that the practice conflicted with section 42(1)(a) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution. The judgment was on the appeal marked: SC.224/2004 filed by Mrs. Lois Chituru Ukeje  (wife of the late Lazarus Ogbonna Ukeje) and their son, Enyinnaya Lazarus Ukeje against Mrs. Gladys Ada Ukeje (the deceased’s daughter).

End Of An Era: Nokia Phone Division Set To Be Renamed Microsoft Mobile [Report]

Ahead of the closure of Nokia-Microsoft deal before the end of April, a leaked letter in Finland shows that Nokia Oyj will be soon renamed as Microsoft Mobile Oy.

According to a report on wmpoweruser.com, a website that tracks developments related to Windows Phone, in a letter Nokia has told its sellers in Finland that the deal with Microsoft will close soon. Both Microsoft and Nokia had said in March that the deal would close by the end of April.

"Please note that upon the close of the transaction between Microsoft and Nokia, the name of Nokia Corporation/Nokia Oyj will change to Microsoft Mobile Oy. Microsoft Mobile Oy is the legal entity name that should be used for VAT IDs and for the issuance of invoices," the company reportedly said in the leaked letter.

This is the only path to enthroning a Nigeria where the basic human rights of the rich and poor are respected and upheld, and where citizens can dwell in peace and safety.

We need to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers and, above all, make sacrifice an integral part of our existence. That is the only way the sacrifice and life’s lessons of Jesus Christ will make meaning in our own daily lives and the life of our nation.

The message of Easter is love. Unconditional love for each other, not as people from different tribes or places of birth, not as Christians or Muslims, but as members of a commonwealth of humanity. We must love each other as Nigerians first.

The ongoing security challenges in our country are saddening, but they also provide an opportunity for us to come out as one people and one nation, to stand together against any persons or forces, which may seek to divide us.

As Nigerians, we must continue to contribute our quota to national security, by reporting any suspicious activity to the police.

Until we begin to care for one another and to realize that every single human life is precious in the eyes of God, Nigeria will never actualize its destiny as a great nation capable of playing a leading role in the world.”
