Retired General Benjamin Adekunle, popularly known as ‘Black Scorpion’ is dead. He died Saturday morning in Lagos according to his wife, Folake. Born in June 1936 in Kaduna, Adekunle served in the the Nigerian Army from 1958-1974. Boko Haram: Victory For Nigerian Army As 150 Insurgents Killed In Konduga
At least 150 Boko Haram members were killed yesterday September 12th after the Nigerian Military repelled after an attempted attack by the sect members on Konduga, a village said to be about 35 kilometres from Maiduguri in Borno State, in the early hours of yesterday. According to a statement issued in Abuja yesterday by Col. T. Antigha of the Army Public Relations, the battle with sect members lasted three hour and four soldiers were injured during the attack.

Sources at Yorkville Endoscopy reveals Dr. Lawrence Cohen stepped down after the board asked him to do so, however the board isn't directly blaming him for Joan's death. A rep for the clinic confirmed he was ousted from his position as medical director.

The Pakistani army today, Friday, September 12, said it had arrested the gunmen who tried to kill girl-child education campaigner, Malala Yousafzai in the country's restive north-west in 2012, The Telegraph reports. One Pilot Missing; As Two US Navy F/A-18 Fighters Crashes In Western Pacific
Washington (AP) — Pentagon officials say two U.S. Navy jets have crashed into the western Pacific Ocean at 5:40 p.m local time, today, and that one pilot was rescued and a search is on for the other. The F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets were from Carrier Air Wing 17 based at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California's San Joaquin Valley. The air wing is embarked on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson.

One woman was reported to have died, while 50 were raped and about 2,000 others and children were displaced in multiple attacks by Fulani cattle rustlers in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State. It was gathered that the multiple attacks which started on Monday evening, lasted till Tuesday morning. The affected villages were Fegin mahe, Fegin kanawa, Kundumai, Ingwai and Tsaunuku. Other were Gangara,Wonaka, Kuka gandu, Kuliwa and Lahiya.
"Sign Probate Letters Or Be Bombed" – MEND Threatens Lagos Judges
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has given judges at the probate section of the Lagos High Court 12 days, within which to issue letters of administration to its members who applied for it. Although the origin of the statement could not be confirmed, the group which claims to be MEND threatened to launch coordinated attacks on houses and vehicles of judges if they continued to delay the issuance of the letters, according to report from Nigerian Tribune.

Anambra State University Renamed Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University
Yesterday September 11th, The Anambra State House of Assembly passed a bill, changing the name of the state-owned University at Uli to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. The bill was passed during the plenary of the legislature in Awka to honour the former Biafra hero. The decision followed the report of the House Committee on Education which recommended the change of the name.
