The Nigeria edition of “Africa
Fashion Week, London” was held over the weekend at the prestigious Eko
Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. According to Ronke Ademiluyi, the founder of Africa Fashion Week London - organisers of AFW Nigeria, “AFW Nigeria
believes in emerging talents and our core aim is providing visibility platforms
for new talents, who would otherwise not have the means to gather national
attention and awareness of their own.”
It started off from a street catwalk on Saturday 17TH
May, a star-studded designers and models that light up the runway and finally a
gala night on Sunday 18th May.
The AFWN which is being organised in collaboration with Abiola Okoya of Mibod Global Resources is produced by Sola Oyebade of Mahogany
Productions and Toyin Lawani of Tiannah‘s styling academy.
African fashion designers that showcased their latest designs on the runway includes: De Laurel, Zadia Africa, Belois Couture, Isi Atagamen, Afrcans by Rui Lopes, Yon Seno, Aamaa a la Mode, Long feet boutique, Magnetic Elegance, Buchiver and Madamoselle Anglaia.
