Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known by his stage name as The Game, ten years ago, changed the face of West Coast hip-hop with the release of his debut album "The Documentary". The Compton MC marked the milestone by hosting a star-studded concert at The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Jan. 18). His most loyal fans were front and centre as he performed his classics including “Hate It or Love It” and “How We Do.”
He was also joined by his friends and collaborators including Tyga, Ab-Soul, O.T. Genasis (“CoCo”), Marsha Ambrosius (“Start from Scratch”), ScHoolboy Q (“Higher”), and Kendrick Lamar (“Westside Story”).
At one point, he brought out his now 11-year-old son Harlem, who appeared as a baby on the album cover, and performed “Like Father, Like Son.”
Even billionaire tycoon Dr. Dre, who executive produced the album, graced the stage with his presence as the crowd roared with applause.
Game plans to release a sequel to his 2005 album later this year, and was recently in the studio with Faith Evans.
