Chris Ngige, Victor Umeh & Others Bow Out As PDP Sweeps Anambra Central Senatorial & House Of Reps

The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate and incumbent Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Sen. Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige has lost his re-election bid to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) standard flag-bearer, Hon. Mrs. Uche Ekwunife. Hon. Ekwunife has pulled 101548 votes to outsmart her closest rival from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh, who garnered 77129 votes, even as Sen. Ngige of APC got only 20850 votes.
Announcing the result at exactly 5.30 AM today, the INEC Returning Officer, Dr. Pius Okoye, attested that the poll was free, fair and credible. While collecting her victorious result sheet, Iyom Ekwunife described the outcome as an expression of people choice, and pledged to offer her constituency quality representation.

However, the party agents of APGA and APC, who refused to append their signatory on the election result report sheet, charged their teeming supporters to remain calm as they would take the matter up to the court of competent jurisdiction. The APGA Party Agent, Chief Chikodi Anara, further accused the INEC RO of manufacturing the figures of the election in collaboration with PDP in order to favour Hon. Ekwunife.
