Nigeria’s main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress has appointed at least 74 persons, ranging from former Head of State, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari; and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu as members of its Board of Trustees. The list which is yet to be released officially by the party came to the
notice of reporters on Wednesday it is learnt that the list also comprised other party stalwarts like former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; Chief Tom Ikimi, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, interim party chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Other prominent members of the party in the APC BoT include Chief Tony Momoh, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Alhaji Baba Magaji, former Bayelsa State Governor Timi Sylva, Yusuf Ali, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Masari; Senator George Akume and Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.
The BoT also comprises serving APC governors and former governors, who are members of the party. It was also learnt that some of the appointed BoT members had a meeting at the party’s national secretariat on Wednesday and that the Board would elect its executive in the coming week.
