It was reported yesterday that the son of Nigeria's former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lt Col Adeboye Obasanjo was shot and wounded in a battle with militant Islamists as the army fought to recapture the north-eastern town of Michika from Boko Haram. Adeboye Obasanjo, an army
engineer and a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State is said to be in stable condition after being treated in hospital. 24 soldiers were reportedly killed during the attack which saw the army lose an armored tank to the sect members. Scores of insurgents were also killed in the battle, the military said.
