to Sahara reporters, A police team led by Gabriel
Seleke, a Bayelsa -born MOPOL commander who was former Goodluck Jonathan's Aide De camp when he was Deputy governor in
Bayelsa state unleashed violence on All Progressives Congress (APC) members
as they embarked on an early morning street rally in Ado -Ekiti. The attack
took place in Ijigbo area. The police tear gassed party members and directly
shot and killed one person during the attack. MOPOL Commander Seleke also had a
verbal altercation with Governor Kayode
Fayemi on the scene, a commissioner in the state and one of Fayemi's
security aides were later arrested by the police team.
A police
press statement later blamed Senator
Babafemi Ojudu, APC chairman in the state, Jide Awe and Governor Fayemi for not hearkening to
security advice that had banned the rally.
