Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode said on Tuesday in Osogbo that his decision to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was well-thought-out. Speaking with newsmen, Fani-Kayode said it was better for him to “return home’’. The former minister said he left the All Progressives Congress
(APC) because he did not like the way the party was being handled.
“Moreover, some of the issues that initially took me out of the PDP have already been addressed. “’I am back in the PDP for good, the APC is a party being managed by two individuals,” Fani-Kayode alleged.
On the upcoming Aug. 9 governorship election, the Ile-Ife-born politician said he was confident of PDP ‘s victory. He said the people of Ife would vote massively for PDP’s candidate, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, who he described as a true son of Ile-Ife.
“This is an opportunity for the people of Ife to have their own person at the executive level in the state. “Omisore was a Deputy Governor, my father was a Deputy Prime Minister in the old Western region. “This time around, we are going for the highest executive level in Osun because Omisore has what it takes to be governor,” he said.
The former minister expressed the view that the APC could not defeat the PDP on Aug. 9, stressing that the party “ will win convincingly’’.
