In Pictures: Sudanese Apostacy Woman, Meriam Ibrahim Receives Hero’s Welcome On Arrival In US

Sudanese woman, Meriam Ibrahim has been on major headlines for the past few months and has become an inspiration to many women around the world and the reason seems pretty clear. After converting to Christianity from Islam in Sudan, she was brave throughout her ordeal when she was to be sentenced to
death. She also gave birth to her daughter in prison with chains on her legs. Last month, she and her family flew out of Sudan to Italy and met His Holiness, Pope Francis.

 And finally, the 27-year-old received a hero’s welcome when she arrived the United States yesterday. Her friends, family and well wishers cheered her and her family at the airport in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Meriam and Daniel Wani told reporters they were overwhelmed by the love.
