After 6 Years, Chris Brown Officially Off Probation For Rihanna Assault Case

After 6 years and 1,000.5 hours of community service, Chris Brown has finally finished serving his time for assaulting Rihanna. The Embattled singer was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats after beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna on Feb. 8, 2009. The singer pled guilty to the charges and accepted a plea deal of community labour to avoid jail time.

A purple-haired Brown was present in court on Friday when Judge James R. Brandlin reviewed his probation report and decided the singer was not in violation of his parole when he failed to get permission for a trip to San Jose on Jan. 12.

Judge Brandlin had previously revoked Brown's probation after the trip – during which he performed at a nightclub where gun shots were fired. But fortunately for Chris, his probation officer satisfied the court with Brown's reason for the trip, and the judge revoked his probation.

In court papers obtained journalists, CB said "that he appreciates being able to better his life and wants to work on being an upstanding citizen."
