It would be recalled that more than 40 people were killed including teenagers, over the weekend when the Islamist sect attacked the three villages and razed down shops, houses and vehicles before carting away with food items and livestock. With quick intervention of the Nigerian Army, over 70 members of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram, were gunned down while fleeing towards the Sambisa forest.
One resident of the village, Mr. Yakubu said the incident took place on Sunday as the terrorist were attacked by the military while attempting to flee into the forest after their raids on the Chibok villages. The resident said he was among the those who went to visit the scene of the attack and saw scores of dead bodies of the sect members littered everywhere.
Yakubu also added, "I want to inform you that we are happy with the gallant effort displayed by the military for quick intervention which led to the killing of dozens of terrorists who wreaked havoc in our communities over the weekend as almost all of them were wiped out."
The Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, confirmed that the incident happened.
