Senator Oluremi Tinubu had in two major publications stated that the seventh senate had failed woefully and for that reason she would find it difficult to have anything to do with it again. Relying on the two
publications by two different national dailies. Senate leader, Victor Ndoma Egba challenged Senator Tinubu’s statement and called on the Senate to call her to order. He further said, “I think it is most unkind, uncharitable for a distinguished senator who has the opportunity of raising concerns with her colleagues, not doing so and going straight to the media.”
The Senate leader submitted the said publications before the Senate. Senator Mudashiru Husain, said, “I am sure they are going to invite Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her own side.”
Senator Olugbenga Ashafa, said, “I don’t know how that would play out because Senator Tinubu herself has played a very important role. If I take that as an example I want to believe that she was misquoted.”
The Senate therefore mandated it Committee on Ethics and Privileges headed by Senator Ayo Akinyelure to investigate the matter and report back in 2 weeks.
