While the fuss over Rihanna's
"nude dress" from Monday
night's CFDA awards is just barely
subsiding, there's already a new RiRi-dressed-inappropriately scandal on the
horizon. In the U.K., Rihanna's Rogue
perfume posters are now being removed from areas where children would
likely see them, since the British
Advertising Standards Authority has deemed the image "sexually suggestive
But beyond the likelihood that children see images far more
explicit than this on TV and the Internet on a daily basis, they also take Rihanna's facial expression into
account, not just her naked body, and to them, Rihanna's glance is one "of
defiance rather than vulnerability." But shouldn't that be a good
thing to show younger women? That they can be sexual and strong-willed at the
same time? Share your thoughts!
