Fearless Motorcyclist Set A World Record With Olympic Bobsleigh Track Jump

Attempting a ski jump on skis must be nerve-racking enough. Hurtling down one on a motorbike doesn't bear thinking about. Not so for Australian Robbie “Maddo” Maddison, who did just that on the Winter Olympic jump in Park City, Utah, breaking the world record for largest vertical drop on a motorbike in the process. Before the jump the freestyle motocross rider warmed up on the resort's bobsleigh track, used in the 2002 Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City.
Maddison has previous when it comes to death-defying stunts, so his 114-metre, 71mph leap shouldn't come as too much of a shock. He filled in for Daniel Craig during the rooftop motorbike scene in Skyfall, and holds the record for the world's longest motorcycle jump.

In 2009 he jumped over Tower Bridge, while it was opened by 25 feet, performing a backwards somersault too. Six months before that, he sped from street level up a ramp to land on top of 96-foot-high scaled-down replica of the Arc de Triomphe in Las Vegas.

The Park City jump, filmed for a full-length documentary film about Maddison called “On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter”, was organised in association with Red Bull and Maddison's sponsors Skullcandy....Watch below:
