The Nigeria’s ambassador to the US, Ade Adefuye, confirmed
with local media that outgoing Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan had
extended an invitation to the U.S. government for President-Elect Muhammadu
Buhari’s Inauguration, and a senior official is expected to lead the American
delegation.
But, who is coming?
Definitely not Michelle Obama!
Caroline Adler, Communications Director in the First Lady’s
Office (WHITE HOUSE) has confirmed in an email on Thursday that Michelle Obama
will not attend Muhammadu Buhari's presidential inauguration in Nigeria on May
29 - invalidating the rumors of her visit.
President Obama showed particular interest in the General Elections and urged Nigerians to insist on credible violence-free elections and immediately after the elections, he hailed the 'strength of Nigeria’s commitment to democratic
principles'.
