Nigeria's elections has been slated for February 14th, and the Presidential Campaign Rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was held Monday in Owerri. It reportedly witnessed mild drama as a top chieftain and member Board of Trustees of the APC, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu addressed the crowd on the podium to solicit support for General Muhammadu Buhari.
Chief Onu while addressing the crowd gathered at Inyanyanwu stadium on the need for Ibos to support the Buhari candidacy, asked the audience: “Will you vote for Buhari?” and the crowd chorused “NO”. Embarrassed by the response from the crowd, Chief Onu modified the question asking the crowd if they will vote for Rochas Okorocha to which they responded positively.
The Owerri rally had top party chieftains in attendance which includes; Buhari’s running mate, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, former CPC national chairman, Tony Momoh, Senator Bukola Saraki, Southeast zonal coordinator of the campaign, Senator Chris Ngige, and other members of the campaign council.
